Blowing Rock and Asheville, NC are along the famous Blue Ridge Parkway. I’m partial to Blowing Rock as a town and Asheville as a lovely small city. They offer so much. My recent article on SoGoNow goes into some adventures there.

Blowing Rock: If you contact the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce they are most helpful. Discover the legendary Chetola Reort on its 87 acres or something in town small and charming like the Inn at Ragged Gardens. Storie Street Grill always draws a good local crowd and the food is great.

Outdoor activities abound in Blowing Rock with Blowing Rock Park, Grandfather Mountain, fishing, and all you can imagine.

Asheville: So much to do, you’ll need several days. The Biltmore Estate has a lot to offer including the most visited winery in the U.S. I’ve interviewed many of the chefs there. So, in a future post, I’ll list some recipes.

Restaurants are plenty and I thoroughly enjoyed The Corner Kitchen, Early Girl Eatery, and Laurey’s Gourmet Comfort Food.
