When visiting New York City, I always like to search out the lesser known restaurants. Many are not open long and others stand the test of time. My find, right off Broadway on 44th Street, is Angus McIndoe Restaurant.

The menu features daily specials. I enjoyed the small Adobo rubbed chicken breast salad. It consisted of 5 slices of chicken breast with an avocado sauce piped over it, next to a combination of baby spinach, black beans, corn, tomatoes, onions, cucumber and red pepper. On top of the salad was a thin, light, plantain crisp about six inches long. The presentation was lovely and it tasted delicious. And, for NY prices, it was reasonable: $14.

McIndoe’s menu had five or six different selections I would have enjoyed, and its dinner menu looked just as good. “Time Out New York” seemed to have the same reaction as they said, “The Broadway experience isn’t complete without a trip to this stylish restaurant and classy watering hole.”

The service was just as good as the food. Others appeared to have the same reaction as there were many locals.

Next time you are in New York near Broadway, give it a try. Let me know what you think.
