We received such positive, immediate feed back from the French Mint Champagne Cocktail by Nicole Aloni, that I will pass along one more favorite: The Lawn Mower…

“A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken. James Dent –

Now we know fall is upon us. But, some are still mowing.

Lawn Mower
Vanilla, mint and melon make this Lawn Mower a delight.

1 cup diced melon, honeydew, cantaloupe or seedless watermelon.

1 ounce vanilla vodka… I use Stoli Vanil.

1/2 ounce Cointreau

3/4 ounce fresh lime juice

About a 1/2 cup of sparking wine (We save the champagne for drinking it “straight”)

Puree the melon in a blender.

Press the puree through a sieve or a strainer into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.

Add the vodkas, Cointreau, lime juice and mint.

Shake vigorously to infuse.

Strain mixture into chilled glasses with a champagne float.

Stir once and garnish…we like mint leaves or melon balls on a skewer.

Enjoy.
