Norm and I lived in the Carolina’s for 15 years and became quite partial to the Charleston area. On two different occasions, we visited the Inn at Middleton Place (about 30 minutes from Charleston). It is worth the visit.

Our first visit was due to its historic significance and gardens. However, they have since added a wonderful state-of-the-art inn, restaurant, equestrian area, wellness center along with other amenities and meeting facilities.

When we received this letter from Abigail Martin, the Innkeeper for The Inn at Middleton Place, we decided to pass it on.

“In 2008, The Inn at Middleton Place was among only two hotels in South Carolina to make National Geographic Traveler’s (NGT) first-ever, annual “Stay List”, celebrating 150 hotels in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean region that are among the best at blending location-inspired architecture, ambiance and amenities, eco-stewardship and a ethic of giving back to the community.”

“In 2009, The Inn has been listed in ‘The most trusted guide” (The Today Show), The Zagat guide, as one of its “Top, U.S. Hotels, Resorts and Spas 2009″. The Inn is one of only seven properties listed around Charleston. Based on the opinions of 14,049 frequent travelers and travel professionals, this guide takes you on an insiders tour of what are considered the foremost hotels, resorts and spas nationwide.”

“Every stay at The Inn at Middleton Place is a great package because admission fees to Middleton Place, worth $70 a couple, are included for free. However, listed below are two special packages available throughout the end of February and offered at other times of the year.”

“Winter Getaway Spend two nights sitting in front of the wood burning fireplaces, or relaxing in the 150 gallon tub! This popular package includes your admission to Middleton Place, America’s Oldest Landscaped Gardens, dinner for two at the Restaurant at Middleton Place and chocolate-covered strawberries and beverage to enjoy in your room. Perfect Valentine’s Day Gift!”

“Town and Country This 4-night stay encompasses the best that Charleston has to offer with two nights in a Grand Room at The Inn at Middleton Place and two nights in The 21 East Battery Bed and Breakfast, arguably Charleston’s finest B&B.; Dinner for two at the Middleton Place Restaurant is included. Feel free to contact us with any questions or to book a reservation at 800-543-4774 or reservations@theinnatmiddletonplace.com .”

Sincerely,
Abigail M.Martin, Innkeeper
