Lime Martini

Mix two teaspoons of sugar
with 1/2 ounce of lime juice
add 3 ounces of vanilla vodka
add 1 ounce of triple sec
add 1 ounce of pineapple juice

Directions:

Put all ingredients in a mixing glass.
Pour into martini glass.
Garnish with lime wheel or cherry

Tips: Make sure all ingredients are cold.
It’s nice to rim a chilled glass with lime and sugar.
This can be served on the rocks.
I use superfine sugar when possible.
Freshly squeezed lime juice is more tasty. If you have key limes, it is a Key Lime Martini

I didn’t discover this crisp and captivating cocktail in the Florida Keys, but in San Diego, where they always seem to be one step ahead of the trends, yet keep the tradition of a well made classic drink.

If looking, you can go to place for great drinks and food (prime rib) called Bully’s Pub in La Jolla. In over twenty years, I have never been disappointed.

Cheers!
