Since June is “National Ice Tea Month,” I wanted you to read this review in order to get some to try yourself.

My take—as good as it gets or even better!

When reviewing products, I am open to just about anything. I realize my palate changes and even the unexpected may change my perception. This was true of New Leaf. Since I rarely drink ice tea, I was pleasantly surprised by my reaction.

Upon receiving my case of 12 16-ounce bottles of New Leaf tea, I split the duplicates. Norm and I kept one batch and my son, Erick Brink, and his partner, Patrice Charles, got the other half. The instructions were to share, sample, taste and review critically. These clear instructions do not always provide favorable results, even though balanced.

With New Leaf, the response was an overwhelming endorsement. Eric and Patrice, avid ice tea drinkers, loved it.

Eric said, “This is the best ever. I was shocked to thoroughly enjoy all the flavors. Do you have more samples for me?”

Patrice responded, “It was all delicious. I think using natural sugar instead of fructose must be one of the reasons for the exceptional flavor. I liked it all.”

Norm, a tea drinker but not an ice tea consumer, said, “These are tasty, but the fruit flavors are my favorite.”

My own take was extensive. In general, I prefer water to ice tea. Rarely do I drink anything sweetened with fructose or sugar. New Leaf won me over. My favorites were those with fruit, as they were simply delicious. I especially favored the plum, mango and strawberry. I was able to sip and enjoy the beverage at a relaxing pace. In addition to its exquisite flavor, it satisfied my thirst.

New Leaf has 12 regular flavors made with 100% organic cane sugar. They also have diet teas made with Splenda. I’d love to do a taste test comparison, side by side, as I usually use Splenda or Stevia. I’d be curious to see if it would be as favorable as that made with the organic cane sugar.

After tasting this product, I wanted to learn more about it origins. New Leaf was founded in 2004 by Eric Skae. His goal was to create a healthy beverage with high quality ingredients and an exceptional taste. New Leaf Tea was his first product and is now available in 14 unique flavors. For a bonus, it is easy to find, as it is available in over 8,000 outlets including restaurants, delis, pizzerias, etc. It is also available on www.newleafbrands.com.

Eric brought over 18 years of experience working with Arizona, Naked juice, Hansen’s and Fresh Samantha. This time inspired him to do his own and make a drink that was better than currently on the market—one that would be healthy and taste good.

In his thinking process, he turned everything over, the name New Leaf evolved. He worked with ingredients in his kitchen that he valued. The finest ingredients were of utmost importance and all natural flavors. He also wanted his product to be preservative free and affordable.

In six months, Eric went from kitchen to working with a flavor specialists and New Leaf was born. Just as I prefer to have other opinions in my reviews, Eric did extensive taste testing.

You can read a lot more about New Leaf on their website. My suggestion, take the taste test and it will win you over. Plus, you have to keep looking for more. I think Eric and his team are always looking to bring more to the market. I know I’m willing to taste it.

After you taste this, please let me know if you like it as well as we all did.
