This just in…The Hill Team, culinary division, is thrilled, but not surprised, that “Top Chef” judge Tom Colicchio was named the nations top chef by the James Beard Foundation.

Brenda met Tom at one her favorite New York City restaurants, the Gramercy Tavern, when he was the chef. A decade ago Tom was named best chef in New York City by the James Beard Foundation for the year 2000.

Just before our first culinary book, Our Love Affair’s with Food and Travel, was published she returned to New York City to meet Tom again for their book. The date was 9/10/2001.

Tom graciously invited her to his new cafe’, Craft, for a welcoming cocktail and then another memorable at Gramercy Tavern, still a favorite.
