The American Institute of Wine and Food

Join us at the El Paseo Restaurant for a South of the Border dinner under the whisk of Chef Alex Castillo. Chef’s Alex’s bold, new Mexican cuisine is getting rave reviews. We will dine in the courtyard and start with either wine or the unofficial fiesta drink, margaritas.

“A historic local restaurant has landed a culinary match made in food-heaven. The landmark El Paseo Restaurant, Santa Barbara’s oldest restaurant, has welcomed locally-renowned Chef Alex Castillo as their new Executive Chef with open arms, and is launching an all new menu inspired by Castillo, and his years of experience in the kitchens at some of Santa Barbara’s top restaurants, including the Wine Cask, Lucky’s and Piatti’s.

Chef Alex Castillo’s interpretation of delicious, quality Mexican cuisine has resulted in an updated menu featuring a mix of traditional favorites with a refined “homemade” feel. With Castillo as the creative director in the kitchen, the focus is on rich flavors and fresh local ingredients, and “back-to-basics” Mexican dishes that will you want to come back for more.” Edhat
