Every year, I used to do a huge party. This is a standby that has stood the test of time. On the occasion when I would leave it out, guests would state their disappointment. So, it is something I still make and has aged well.

Hot Crab & Clam Dip

2 8-Ounce packages cream cheese
1 Can crab meat or 8 ounces frozen crab meat
1/4 Cup salad dressing (mayo)
4 Tbs butter
1 Can minced clams
1/2 Cup Sauterne or similar white wine
Worcestershire and Tabasco – a dash of each


  • Combine all ingredients.
  • Simmer at least 2 hours.
  • Serve with chunks of bread, crackers, vegetables or pita slices.
