I recently moved to Sarasota’s Southside. Looking for a new signature house drink, I found Southside Cocktail on drinkrecipes.com.

The original Southside drink  dates back to the 1930’s. This simple  recipe has only four ingredients, all my favorites. Since I live in the south, I enjoy a fresh minty, cool and refreshing cocktail. This one is perfect for a patio or pool party.

Ingredients

2 ounces gin – I like Beefeater.
1 ounce lemon juice – so easy to squeeze your own
3/4 ounce simple syrup
6-8 fresh mint leaves

Method

Measure ingedients into a cocktail  shaker.
Add ice.
Shake hard and strain into a chilled glass.
Garnish with mint leaves.

Cheers!
