When I lived in the Carolinas and did a lot of TV shows from the Biltmore in Asheville, I always enjoyed them. They continue to come up in innovative new recipes as well as standards. Visiting, should be on a “to do” list. It is larger than any of the mansions in Newport, and has a wonderful history.
Biltmore Sparkling Blackberry Punch
:• 1 oz. light rum
• ¾ oz. blackberry brandy
• 2 oz. cranberry juice
• 1 oz. simple syrup
• 1 oz. blackberry purée
• 3 oz. Biltmore® Pas de Deux *
Combine rum, brandy, cranberry juice, simple syrup and blackberry purée over ice in a mixing glass. Shake well and strain mixture over ice in a tall glass. Fill with Pas de Deux. Garnish with fresh blackberries and a mint sprig.
* MDH–I would substitute Champagne or sparkling wine if the Pas de Deux is not available.
