It’s been over a decade since I first experienced this and I am still making it.

Pritikin Longevity Center & Spa’s Chocolate Ice Cream

Ingredients:

4 bananas, peeled and chopped

¼ cup skim milk or fat-free soy milk

¼ cup carob powder or Hershey’s plain coca powder

¼ cup date sugar (we use 1/8 cup)

1 tsp vanilla extract

Method:

Place chopped bananas in a plastic bag or container and freeze overnight (or longer).

Place all of the ingredients in a food processor (including frozen bananas) and process until completely smooth.

This will take a few minutes.

Keep frozen until ready to serve.

Serving size: ½ cup = 100 calories

Tip  – Use bananas that are just starting to spot. That is when they are sweet and you don’t have to toss them.

You can substitute fruits for chocolate. I like to use strawberries, mangos, or blueberries. Delicious!
