The locals are flocking to Miguel’s, near the winner of the nation’s best beach in 2012.  We want to bask in the old world flavors of this memorable cuisine Miguel’s before the snow birds, or are they sun birds, return.
Miguel’s can get very busy in any season after nearly 30 years of deserved praise. Set back in an almost secret hideaway near Siesta’s pure white sands, is a taste of Europe, at affordable prices. The garlic soup is right out of Barcelona, the way I remember it. The French inspired menu is old school in a classic way. Think about whole Dover sole, Caesar salad made table side and cherries Jubilee!
Service at Miguel’s is also impeccable, a word I rarely use as a restaurant reviewer. Miguel or a family member greets guests at the door. Chef Gabe Garcia stops at the tables to make sure we are happy and well fed. Although we rarely have a holiday meal anywhere but home, Miguel’s is one exception. Since we leave for the Bahamas the day after Thanksgiving it will be  fresh roast turkey and trimmings this year at Miguel’s for the food and festive atmosphere after a long walk on the beach. After that, a siesta.
