Every year thousands of people proclaim their love for each other and commit to a lifetime together by getting married. Traditionally weddings have been held near a couple’s family and friends, probably local to where they grew up. However, the world is now so accessible that many people meet from completely different destinations. The process of choosing an appropriate wedding venue becomes very difficult and people may choose to do so away from everything they know and in one of these beautiful cities:

Rome

Rome

1. Rome
Italy has always been associated with love and romance and the capital city, Rome, has huge amounts of both. It is also a cultural desirable destination; it has an abundance of designer and boutique shops, museums, art galleries and many famous buildings. The whole package is wrapped up with a Mediterranean feel. It is the perfect location for those who want a romantic setting and a wide choice of options for their honeymoon. Italy is also home to the Venice canals and Lake Como; two of the most romantic settings in the world.

2. Las Vegas
At the other end of the scale is Las Vegas; the perfect destination for those couples that want action and adventure. There are a huge number of wedding chapels along the main strip, usually slotted in between massive hotel complexes. It is even possible to be married by an Elvis impersonator! A honeymoon can be spent in Vegas, enjoying the sights, sounds and experiences or visiting the Grand Canyon; for a little drama. Alternatively, it is possible to fly anywhere in the world from Las Vegas; ensuring any honeymoon destination is an option.tropics

3. Florida Keys
This is actually an area of Florida as opposed to a city but the destination offers so many opportunities, it needs to be included! Choose between the romantic, warm north eastern destinations of St Amelia Island or St Augustine; alternatively head to Disneyworld for a fun filled wedding ceremony. Ceremonies held at Disneyworld can be packed with Disney characters and fairytale castles or done without a hint of the Disney magic! It may be the idea destination for those who have already got children from previous marriages and want them to feel part of a special day. The sunshine state can offer a wedding service which will satisfy any bride and groom.

4. Hamilton, Bermuda
Bermuda is just six hundred and fifty miles east of America and yet has a decidedly British feel; thanks to its rich history. There are many English style pubs and cottages across the island, these sit perfectly next to magical turquoise seas and beaches covered in pink sand. The island is romantic and excellent for those who like to explore; there are huge limestone caves, towering cliffs and even some of the best golf courses in the world. If the city of Hamilton doesn’t provide enough magic for your special day then try getting married on the beach or even the Reefs Resorts and Club in Southampton.

The Bahamas

5. The Bahamas
Although this is not actually a city but a complex of approximately two thousand islands, it is one of the most beautiful destinations on the planet. The Bahamas islands are situated off the southern tip of California and are the perfect destination for beach lovers, divers, snorkelers and even sailors. It is even possible to watch the dolphins or g scuba diving with sharks. If you don’t have big budget for the wedding, you could try out the self catering cottages on site, and this way you’ll save more cash without compromising the quality of your ceremony.

The perfect destination on this group of islands must be the former private estate of New Providence Island. The gardens are immaculate and inspired by Versailles; they even have a 12th century Augustinian Cloister! The wedding ceremony can be as sophisticated as you like and still retain an exotic charm.

Whatever city or destination you choose for your wedding, just make sure to enjoy it. Make a smart choice and combine comfort and relaxation with excitement and adventure. This way you’ll have a memorable ceremony which someday will be transformed into the best story for your kids.
