As many of you know, I love to cruise and have done so extensively on the ocean. Unfortunately, I’ve only experienced one river cruise and one barge trip. My goal in 2016 and going forward is to try to get one or two river cruises a year on my agenda.

River cruising is more popular than ever and for good reason. A one of a kind experience, river cruises allow travelers a chance to truly see a region. From scenic vistas to stately castles in old world settings, river cruising offers unique itineraries for the intrepid.
Recent trends in river cruising include:
  • An industry wide 11% growth
  • Expanding itineraries across multiple continents (Europe, Asia, North America, South America and Africa)
  • Solo Travel Friendly with low or no Single Supplements.

Consumer Affairs has put together a guide that provides all sorts of tips and suggestions I plan to put to good use.  Did I know some of them, yes? Does it have new information for me, yes? I hope you might find helpful.

You can see the guide in its entirety here:
Thank you Danielle Thompson for passing this information on to me.
