Wedding bands were not common to men until the 20th century. During World War II at Pearl Harbor, soldiers began to wear wedding bands to portray their endearment and love to their wives back in the United States. This was on December 7th 1941. In fact, after the war the practice of wearing wedding bands became something that both the wives and the husbands followed.
