Normally the press releases I receive go on http://theepicureanexplorer.com. However, the introduction of the newest five-star Anax Five-Star Resort and Spa on Mykonos seemed like something our Where and What in the World readers would want to know about. I personally enjoying learning about new five-star properties anywhere and ANAX does such a wonderful job, I wanted to share this.

Resorts of Mykonos Opens Newest Five Star Entry,

Anax Resort & Spa

Mykonos, Greece (July 13, 2016) — The family owned and operated Resorts of Mykonos has just opened its newest resort, the five star Anax Resort & Spa at Agios Ioannis beach.  Created and designed by the Greek owners Thanasis and Evgenia Kousthana over five years, Anax showcases the best of Greek island Cycladic design and organic materials.  Anax Resort is a five minute drive from Mykonos town and seven minutes from the airport.

Forty five rooms and maisonettes feature dramatic sea views with the ancient archaeological site of Delos island in the distance. The finest natural woods, stone, and marble, along with marine motifs and a neutral palate create an unmistakable sense of place. Also involved in the interior design was Adonis Martinos of Athens and Santorini.

“We wanted the water to imbue everything, from the sea views of all public areas and restaurants overlooking both the sea and two large salt water pools, to private pools in the maisonnettes, “said Evgenia Kousthana. We also incorporate the design motif of soft, curving waves and water features in the décor,” she continued.

A casually elegant restaurant helmed by Vennitis Manolakis features Mediterranean specialties.  All day dining is offered by a snack bar, complemented by prime spots for a cocktail at a poolside bar and lobby lounge.

All accommodations feature balconies along with in room espresso maker, Bluetooth wireless, organic bath amenities by Korres, iron and ironing board, terry bathrobes and safe.

Other facilities include a fitness center, Anasa spa with hammam, and boutique featuring Greek designers.

Rates start at 450 euros (approx. $495 USD) per night which includes a full American hot and cold buffet breakfast along with a table devoted to Greek delicacies.  A book direct savings of 15% off all room rates plus transfers to the airport or port are offered, and stay three nights and get the fourth complimentary along with a thirty minute back massage on arrival. The resort is open for the season until October 15.
