Yosemite Valley, California
The Yosemite Valley is probably the most famous of all the national parks in America. The park’s terrain ranges from rugged desert landscape to lush forests hugging rivers. The best way to explore is certainly by hiking or mountain biking. One of the park’s highlights is the mighty Yosemite Falls, the highest waterfall in North America. There are many other impressive sights as well, including the El Capitan and Three Brothers rock formations. It’s not just hikers and bikers who will love Yosemite. It’s also worth going if you want to spend your vacation fishing, camping, and rock climbing.
Pinnacles, California
Drive just two hours south of San Francisco and you’ll come to the Pinnacles national park. There’s plenty of driving to get to the park, so it’s best buying or hiring a comfortable RV for the journey. Once you’re there, you can see huge condors flying just off the coast. In fact, the park is famous for its successful condor recovery program. There are loads of rock-climbing routes along the rugged coastline. Those who don’t have a head for heights can stick to the many hikes and nature trails.
Acadia, Maine
There are more striking seascapes and epic coastline at the Acadia National Park in Maine. This large park spans all the way up to the large Mount Desert Island. The best way to see all of the park is to drive the 20-mile Park Loop Road that circles the entire park. When you’ve had enough of all the hiking and driving, you can find a quiet spot on one of the park’s sandy beaches to relax.
Grand Canyon, Arizona
There are many ways to see Arizona’s impressive Grand Canyon. Book an exciting helicopter trip down into the canyon. Hike along the canyon’s edge. Enjoy some white water rafting along the Colorado River. There are multiple ways to see this impressive natural landmark. The Grand Canyon is the second most visited national park in the country. So if you want to do any tours, it is always best to book as far in advance as possible. If you are hiking around yourself, except the trails and routes to be busy.
Kenai Fjords, Alaska
The Kenai Fjords may be Alaska’s smallest national park, but the are certainly its most impressive. You’ll be able to hike through glaciers and across snowfields, or take a kayak down Resurrection Bay. There’s also plenty of wildlife to try and spot. Try and get a picture of the area’s cute sea lions and puffins!
