Despite the US State Department this year warning kids to avoid going to Cancun and other parts of Mexico for spring break, there continues to be a demand for kids to go to the Mexican hot spot. With the hot sun and beautiful beaches, you may think the US government has lost its mind. What could cause them to think like this? However, the dangers of vacationing in Mexico are indeed great with the temptations of drugs and alcohol. However, there are other activities you can take part in that may help you to avoid going to a rehabilitation for alcoholics.

1.) La Isla Shopping Mall. Who doesn’t love shopping? There is quite a lot to see and find at the mall. User _MSJLB_00 from Houston, Texas gave the mall a strong recommendation. “Pretty decent pricing and you also have a little wiggle room,” the user said. “Everyone there tries to get your attention and sell their products.” That is not much of a surprise. You will find all your favorites stores including Adidas and Nautica. Shopping for things other than alcohol makes a trip to a rehabilitation for alcoholics less likely.

2.) Dolphin Discovery. Everybody loves dolphins. Not every person gets the chance to swim with them, however. Often times, opportunities to go swimming with the dolphins are in high demand and likely require reservations. Check out what kourtg2017 said about Dolphin Discovery from their cell phone. “Dolphin Discovery at Isla Mujeres/Cancun was the best thing we did on our trip,” the user stated. You can even receive individualized attention in the Dolphin VIP Lounge. This excursion could take your mind off of alcohol and any potential for a rehabilitation for alcoholics.
3.) 2-Day Trip From Cancun to Chichen Itza. While you may be spending close to $200 dollars on this excursion, you might find it helpful and relaxing. You can be taken on a two-hour tour of Chichen Itza with plenty of time to check things out on your own. You might wish to check out the botanical gardens at the Mayaland Resort or take a swim in the pools. Perhaps most exciting may be a performance by the regional ballet. Staying away from the alcohol or drugs and focusing on relaxing can be your chance to worry less about ending up at a rehabilitation for alcoholics.
4.) Snorkeling in Cancun. Checking out a reef or exploring a sunken ship could be the best afternoon you may spend in a long time. There is a whole different world right beneath you and discovering lost treasures underwater might be a way for you to keep your mind and body focused off of any tempting drugs or alcohol. With small groups, you can receive personal attention if you are confused or lost during the snorkeling. The groups leave during the morning or afternoon and it is open to all ages.

Recognizing how to avoid alcohol and drug temptations and troubles may make your vacation away from school or with the family much more enjoyable. If you engage in some of these fantastic activities, the chances of you ending up at a rehabilitation for alcoholics could be very low for your time in good old Mexico.
