A restaurant review by guest blogger, Sarah Overton, of Encinitas, California.

How I enjoy returning to re-capture the captivating island of Catalina ….26 miles off the coast in California.. Although we haven’t lived on this tropical paradise for nearly 20 years, the island retains it’s laid back vibe.

My son, Captain Matthew, and I sailed back to celebrate Halloween, island style, with a festive spirit of ghosts and goblins. This year I found more visitors, golf carts, boats, and new seafood restaurants to explore. A new zip line near my favorite beach has added to the fun.

Since I couldn’t try all the new cafe’s, I asked my food loving friend Sarah, to review Maggie’s Blue Rose. Sarah snapped the photos, while she and her husband, Tyler, devoured some of the house specialties…. top tequila margaritas, hot and spicy cheese dip, and fresh potato tacos.

High votes were given to the staff, for ambiance, unique margaritas, and authentic Mexican food at the Blue Rose. Our thanks to guest food blogger, Sarah Overton.
