In 1983, a friend shared a poster from TRW where the light bulb that shines bright in your head with an idea, should not be immediately turned off.  I still hold strong to ideas being precious. In this upcoming year, they are more important than ever.

When Were and What in the World was started about two decades+ ago, the main focus was food, wine and travel. Those were topics my associate Brenda Hill and me liked to cover. The long term goal was to have guest contributors and expand topics to provide our readers with a wider range of interests and be a platform where writers have articles published. If you are interested, please check https://whereandwhatintheworld.com/submissions. If you do submit, please follow the guidelines.

We do not accept religious or political posts. This is such a volatile time, my own opinions could take up all day and every day, and no one wants to read them. We focus on upbeat, fun, learning, and general lifestyle interests. Individual rights matter and I’m proud to say we have contributors from around the world. It is a joy to learn about other countries, as well as new insights to places I’ve visited.

As we go forward this year, I wish all of our readers and contributors a wonderful 2018. If you get frustrated, try journaling and letting your thoughts released onto paper or a document on your computer. Work for causes you believe and remember that the United States is comprised of people of diversity and the mixture makes us special. Let’s remember that American’s once referred to the US with pride, as the “Melting pot of the World.”
