As the Hill Team has traveled around the world, there is more and more emphasis on the environment.

Norm and I were quite impressed in Bermuda when we discovered they were buying barge loads of garbage for turning waste to energy in the form of fuel for the residents of Bermuda.

Now writing about garbage is not the usual subject in this column. But based on the worldwide effort for alternative energy, clean coal, opportunity fuels, and renewable energy, I came across some information on N-Viro, that I was asked to comment on and review. My son is in sales for Rite-Away-Disposal, so I’m somewhat familiar with some of the industry happenings.

It’s important that you know, I’ve always been conscious of not being wasteful. With that being said, I also enjoy the pleasures of traveling the world, experiencing different food and cultures, and not worry about enjoying the pleasures and advancements of man and his mind.

What I found especially interesting is N-Viro, which has been around since 1993. Its patented processes convert wastewater sludge, as well as other bio-organic wastes, into biomineral agricultural and soil-enrichment products that have a good market value. Its sales are $40 million plus since it started.

What I wish to acknowledge and applaud is that this company and process are another example of American ingenuity that is not getting played up in the press. I wish someone would undertake the challenge to write a column on all companies like N-Viro who are working to convert waste to energy.

I thank them as I plan to continue to fly, cruise, drive, and enjoy the pleasures and accomplishments of man.

If you are interested in this topic, I suggest you visit the N-Viro website and view it’s video.

For more information.

Next post will be back to food and travel.
I wrote this post as a subscriber to I hope they have information in the future on more food and travel events.
