OCEAN VODKA WINS TOP HONORS IN FOUR SEASONS HOTELS AND RESORTS GLOBAL 100 MILE COCKTAIL CONTEST

Four Seasons Resort Lana’i at Manele Bay Features Organic Ocean Vodka in Their Award-Winning Lokahi “UNITY” Cocktail

Ocean Vodka’s organic, gluten free vodka is the winning recipe for the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts 100 Mile Contest for the Americas.  The 100 Mile Cocktail Contest features recipes with ingredients locally sourced within a 100-mile radius of the presenting property.  Selected as the featured vodka in the cocktail recipe submitted by Four Seasons Resort Resort Lana’i at Manele Bay, the winning “Lokahi Cocktail” was inspired by the universal idea of unity, in Hawaiian translated as “Lokahi.”

Nobu Executive Chef, Oyvind Naesheim, and Kailani Restaurant Manager, Jeremy Sidman, united on the voyage to create a sustainable cocktail.  “Similar to Polynesian voyaging, their team embarked on an incredible journey.  Like paddling a canoe, the journey requires teamwork, diversity, balance, harmony and strength.  This drink is a harmonious and flavorful balance of ingredients that equally represent unity – two teams aligned in unison to achieve one common goal.”

Announced June 23rd, winners receive international recognition by the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.  More than ninety properties globally submitted recipes.  “We are most excited to have won this top recognition by one of the preeminent brands in luxury hospitality. We are proud to be associated with such a prestigious brand,” says Ocean Vodka CEO Shay Smith.

Long inspired by the ocean paradise of Hawaii, Ocean Vodka is handcrafted using deep ocean mineral-rich water sourced from a depth of 3,000 feet off the Kona Coast of the Island of Hawaii.  The trace minerals, including potassium, magnesium and calcium, help create a distinct and pleasurable flavor profile that is unlike any other vodka.  Ocean Vodka has been the exclusive vodka on Hawaiian Airlines since 2007, and is the number one selling spirit made in Hawaii.  Originally launched on Maui in 2006, Ocean Vodka is the creation of the Smith Family, owners of Ocean Vodka. Situated on a breathtaking 80-acres in Kula on the slopes of Mount Haleakala, the Ocean Vodka Organic Farm and Distillery captures panoramic views of both the north and south shores of Maui.  It is easily reached from Maui’s international Kahului Airport as well as the island’s world-famous resorts.
