Catalogs, catalogs, and more catalogs abound my mail on a daily basis. Most get pitched quite rapidly. But… the food catalogs this year are outdoing themselves.

During the past 25+ years, there were about 6 standards with Harry & David’s fruit standing out among them all.

Now, there is no boundary and they keep improving. If the photography gets any better, maybe I’ll taste the food from the photos and eliminate the calories.

Just in case you don’t get as many as I do, I thought I’d share a few of my favorites. Those that don’t capture my interest get pitched right away, as I want a second, third, fourth or so look. And, in some cases, a purchase may result.

The top of my list goes to Dean & Deluca, http://deandeluca.com/. Yes, I’m partial, as I used to live a mile from one of the stores and frequented it regularly. Store, mail, or web, Dean & Deluca always meets and surpasses expectations. They cover all types of food and kitchen desires, and I enjoy especially their spices.

Mackenzie Limited, http://mackenzieltd.com/ appears to have some of the most succulent fish and other goodies I’ve seen. The salmon on the cover keeps me flipping back through this delightful assortment of treasures.

Stonewall Kitchen, http://stonewallkitchen.com/ features one of the nicest assortment of home cooking and comfort food displayed in a catalog that has crossed my desk. I can personally recommend their teas. I’m more than tempted on a few of their other items. They would not be so good for my waistline, but I may order some as gifts.

Williams-Sonoma, http://williams-sonoma.com/ is a standby that always has a lovely assortment of gifts for the home.  Here is a link to its promotions: http://verified.codes/Williams-Sonoma

Last but not least, Petrossian, http://petrossian.com/ specializes in the ultimate Caviar and some accompaniments. Caviar is not something I especially care for, but this looks so great, I could be tempted to sample it. This catalog is for someone who has plastic with a high limit.

If any of you have favorite catalogs, please don’t have them add me to their mailing list. My mail carrier would not forgive you. However, I would appreciate your commenting about your favorite along with their websites, and I’ll take a look.

I’m traveling this week. I’m sure that, upon my return, there will be more and more catalogs. Many will immediately be discarded and one or two will pull me in. It’s a good thing I enjoy looking, and, can almost taste the food from the great photography.

Enjoy your catalog food season.

I’m back and this just came, Calyx Flowers at http://CalyxFlowers.com. I ordered. The photography jumps from the page. Wonderful.
Another got my attention, Santa’s Smokehouse at http://santassmokehouse.com. My assortment of salmon was delivered. I’ll let you know more once we’ve tested it all.
