While in Washington D.C. (National Harbor)attending a meeting at Gaylord National, Norm and I had dinner with a group at Moon Bay.

Moon Bay’s focus is coastal cuisine and they do a fine job. The menu is put together by well-known, talented,Executive Chef, Duane Keller. We started off sharing a tiered tower of appetizers–enabling us to try a little bit of many. A good number of us ordered and devoured a Shrimp Bisque seasoned with tarragon and peppered sherry. Norm went on to enjoy the Grilled Bistro Filet with Grilled Jumbo Prawns served with fingerling coin-asparagus hash and Bearnaise sauce. I went with the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, served with salt roasted fingerlings, asparagus and Maryland Remoulade. The crab cakes were delicious. There was very little filler and the flavor of the crab was fresh and tasty. Our table finished off with an eclectic selection of individual mini American classic desserts.

At this point, there are not a lot of options in National Harbor. There will be as you can walk around and see the establishments scheduled to open. Personally, that makes me happy as I don’t like the feeling of being stuck in one hotel. But, Moon Bay is a good choice for a good meal.
