When Norm and I attended the annual meeting of the Phoenix Convention and Visitors Bureau we were shocked to discover Arizona is home to 31 vineyards. Many are making excellent wine.

Some may be as shocked as we were and delighted by the taste of the several we tried. So, now we are checking out Arizona Wine. We plan to make a trip on the Arizona Wine Trail. However, there are several as the wine is growing in several regions of the state.

If any of you want to sample the state’s top wine growers, there is an event and you’ll even be able to have your opinion count.

For the first time, The Arizona Wine Growers Festival will come to The Farm at South Mountain and host nearly all of the state’s top wine growers who are gathering to showcase their finest wines. The interactive event will allow guests to learn about Arizona wine production, walk through exhibits of the state’s wine growing regions, taste dozens of wines and ultimately vote for their favorite vino! The general admission event takes place on November 22nd, 2009 from 1:00pm-5:00pm. Tickets cost $65.00 at the door or $50.00 during presale.

We hope to see you there.
