Each season I invent or reinterpret a new cocktail. Spring’s warm sunshine, wild flowers, and fresh fruits led me to taste test the Coconut Twist…so simple, sour and sweet.
Ingredients – for one:
1/2 cup fresh pink or red grapefruit juice
A shot or two of coconut rum
Garnish of grapefruit or tangerine slice
Method:
Fill a tumbler with ice.
Shake ice, juice, and rum.
Pour into glass and garnish with fruit slice.
(Note: I use Malibu Caribbean coconut rum and Simply all natural pure grapefruit juice when I’m out of fresh squeezed.)
My inspiration for this drink is from a New York (Fire Island) bartender, turned lawyer, turned novelist, Chuck Graves. His latest mystery is The Last Heir, a wine-country who-dunnit.
