Mumbai is one of the most developed cities in India, both in terms of culture and infrastructure. Living in Mumbai can be an intense, exhilarating ordeal- you find yourself dead tired from all the traffic one moment, then rushing out to enjoy the rain the next. It also helps that most of the workforce in the city consist of the young population; the city has a vibrant, peppy atmosphere which is one to relish.
If you live in the city, you are almost sure to have a roommate, whether you live in a single room for rent in Mumbai or a 2bhk flat on rent in Mumbai. The atmosphere, particularly the nightlife is something to be enjoyed- so get out of your apartment on rent in Mumbai, and soak in the energy of the city! Let’s take a look at some of the best places in the city to visit with your roommate:
Elephanta Caves
Let’s start of with an offbeat, historical place in the outskirts of the city. The Elephanta Caves are known for the stone sculptures of Hindu and Buddhist Gods, which are damaged due to the sword practice of the Portuguese invaders. The artistic excellence speaks of the culture and heritage the bygone era has left behind, and the place itself is one of the Seven Wonders of India. Getting there is via a 40 minute ferry, which is also an enjoyable affair- so head over with your roommates.
Marine Drive
All archetypal, cliched images of Mumbai feature the image of Marine Drive, for good reason too. The Marine Drive, also known as the Queen’s Necklace due to the way it lights up at night, is one of the best places in the city to relax with your roommate. The C-shaped stretch links Nariman Point and Babulnath, and some of the best street food in the city is available around the Marine Drive. It is the perfect place to visit with your roommates.
Markets in Mumbai
Mumbai is known for its flea markets, from where you can get good quality items at ridiculously low prices (if you haggle). The Chor Bazaar is the largest flea market in the nation, at around almost 150 years of age. The place has a lot of stalls and shops, from where you and your roommates to choose from a vast variety of decoration. Colaba Causeway and Linking Road are the place to go to, if you both are fashionistas. You can get authentic-looking knock-offs at cheap prices. Other markets in the city are the Crawford Market, Chincholi Bunder and Hill Road, all of which has something for everyone.
