With record low temperatures upon many of us, The Botanist gin with warm cocktail recipes to make at home this winter season, is providing some ideas.

The Botanist

As the first and only dry gin from the Scottish island of Islay, The Botanist features 22 hand-foraged botanicals that make the craft spirit ideal for mixing with fresh ingredients from your local Farmer’s Market or great grocer.

See below for custom recipes featuring tea, honey and cider that are perfect for the cold weather.

Fallen Gimlet

 

Ingredients:

·         1.5oz The Botanist Gin

·         .75oz Fresh Lime Juice

·         .75oz Honey Syrup (2 Honey: 1 Water)

·         4 Leaves of Fresh Sage

·         Pinch of Sea Salt

 

Directions:

1.       Add all ingredients to shaker with ice

2.       Shake and strain into cocktail glass

3.       Garnish with Fresh Sage

 

Fallen Gimlet

 

Leaf’ Behind

 

Ingredients:

·         1.5oz The Botanist Gin

·         .5oz Cointreau

·         1 Bag Lemon Ginger Tea

·         1 Bag Earl Grey Tea

·         .5oz Fresh Lemon Juice

·         1 dash of bitters

·         Orange wheel for garnish

 

Directions:

1.       In tea cup, combine all ingredients, and fill with boiling water

2.       Stir and wait until temperature is drinkable and tea has steeped

3.       Remove tea bag

4.       Garnish with Orange Wheel

Punkin’ Gin Fashioned

 

Ingredients:

·         1.5oz The Botanist Gin

·         .25oz Dry Vermouth

·         .25oz Maple Syrup

·         2 dashes Orange Bitters

·         Cinnamon stick for garnish

 

Directions:

1.       In mixing glass, stir all ingredients with large ice cubes

2.       Strain into rocks glass over large ice

3.       Garnish with cinnamon stick
