The Secret Season for Sand, Sun, Surf, Seafood and Sips – Siesta Key Beach – one of the top rated beaches in the country.
Siesta Key, Florida

If you happened to tune into Regis and Kelly on 7/10, Kelly gave Siesta Key Beach, a favorite of The Hills, a super plug. “The white, fluffy sand is like powdered sugar.”
I have written about Siesta beach, the breakfasts and the oysters over the years. Here, again, are my favorites, all in the small village, a short stroll from the pristine beach. However, all of the shops, cafes, fine dining and bars are worth a visit.
Breakfast: The Broken Egg, Local owners
Lunch: Cafe Continental : Owners from the UK
Happy Hour: 3PM – SKOB (Siesta Key Oyster Bar) – voted “best in town.” Local owners
Now take a siesta on the sugar sand.
Cocktails, before dinner or after. The Blase Cafe – sexy martini bar. Local owners
Dinner: The Lobster Pot. more fresh seafood and live Maine lobsters. Owner is from Maine.
A perfect day of sand, sun, surf , seafood and sips at the beach.
Hint, summer is the secret season in Florida!
Many travel writers, one from International Food and Wine Travel Writer’s Association, arriving tomorrow, venture to the Sarasota area for quiet culture and culinary creativity.
