Here is an oldie my mother found in a old cookbook by Clementine Paddleford.  We used to make this for lake, beach or pool parties. Just a cool and refreshing summer sip for a warm afternoon.

Watermelon-Lemonade

Ingredients

1/2 cup sugar

3/4 cup boiling water

1-1/2 cups finely chopped watermelon

1 cup lemon juice

1 quart carbonated or spElling water

Crushed ice

Mint-for garnish

Method

Disolve sugar in boiling water

Put watermelon pulp through fine dive, watch for seeds.

Combine watermelon juicewith lemon juice and sugar syrup.

Chill thoroughly.

Serve In a  tall glass with crushed ice Add sparkling water.

Garnish with sprigs of fresh mint.

Tip

This summer refresher is more festive for grown ups if you substitute sparkling wine for the water.

Cheers!
