Norman & Maralyn Hill

Norman & Maralyn Hill

While I wish 2015 was a wonderful year for everyone, I’m sending my greeting early, as it has been a most challenging year for me. The support of my family and friends made it bearable. I’ve shared some of this with some of you, but not all with everyone. Too much happened too fast. Overlooking anyone was not intentional. I’m sending as many by e-mail as possible, as I simply do not have the energy to write out all the addresses. Doing this as a blog post is for those I do not have addresses. I usually do not get this personal on this blog, so excuse this exception.

May 4th, while we were in NYC, Norm passed away while sleeping. The week before, we discovered he would have to undergo lung surgery, so going peacefully, was best.

Following his wishes, we did not have a memorial service. However, his obituary is up on Legacy.com (http://www.legacy.com/guestbooks/azcentral/norman-e-hill-condolences/174846825?&eid=sp_gbupdate).

While going through with seven scheduled leg surgeries in May and June, I focused on clearing out the house of collections, all of our 8,000 books, etc. I wanted to prepare the house to sell or if the appraisal was not high enough rent it until the market came back so I could go to a smaller more affordable home.

August 21st, I was run over by a car while crossing the street to get my mail. With excellent care at Chandler Regional Trauma Hospital and then Rhodes Acute Rehab Center, followed by weeks with my son and Christy, I went home with my friend Sherrie staying with me for three weeks and then Brenda coming for a week. Now, Nov. is here, Alecia & Naneah came for a week, and I am free of back and cervical spine braces most of the time and my cast. Therapy has started and I need a driver, but things are moving forward one day at a time.

EC packed and moved me and Sherrie unpacked. There are still some boxes in the garage, but I’m in no hurry to get everything done. The Sky Court house is up for sale, as being a landlord until the market comes back is out of the question. The 480 landline is disconnected. My new information home is in Sun Lakes, AZ. It is smaller and easier to handle.

I’m thankful for the joy when Lindsay, Alecia & Naneh joined Paula, Christy and EC brought a party to me in rehab on my 75th birthday.

I just got a notice from the IRS that we’re being audited for 2013. I just know that 2016 has to be better.

The support of everyone through all these challenges has been appreciated and I’m thankful for 25 great years.

Merry Everything, Happy Always,

Maralyn
