Few people know that there is a large Amish population in Sarasota Fl. I have not written about Yoder’s yet since I like to keep a few secrets for myself.

When ever our family gets hankering for crunchy, old fashioned, fried chicken and delicious pies we head west to Amish country. Yoder’s Amish restaurant is our top pick for fresh peach pies. Others love the shoo-fly pie made by Mary Yoder.

The travel channel has discovered this locally popular spot. The story tonight revolves around grandmother Amanda Yoder who began this comfort food cafe 34 years ago.
Yoder’s was featured 9-16 on the food channel, called Man v.Food, about the best places in the country to indulge in serious culinary treats. So, since the secret is out, I decided to share just a little more.

If you try it, let me know if you like it as well as I do.
