Tastes–
Maralyn and I both delight in trying new tastes. Yet sometimes we enjoy the tried and true. One example is the green bean casserole with the French fried onions on top that we sometimes prepare for Thanksgiving.
This clam dip first appeared on the Kraft Music Hall of Fame during the 1950s. Within a day, New York City was sold out of canned clams. I still enjoy making this old time favorite.
Clam Dip Appetizer
Ingredients
8-oz can minced clams – I like Snows
1 garlic clove, cut in half
8-oz. pkg cream cheese – Since this is an original Kraft recipe, I use Philadelphia Brand.
2 tsp lemon juice
Dashes of salt and pepper
Method
Drain clams, reserving 1/4 of liquid.
Rub mixing bowl with garlic.
Combine clams, clam liquid, softened cream cheese and remaining ingredients, mixing until well blended.
Chill. Serve with crispy crackers.
