There are so many things I enjoy  about autumn. I am spending this month on an endless summer beach in California. Then we set sail for Catalina Island under the wine moon on the 22nd.
I will miss my annual treat at 32 East. However, I am including the invitation for anyone near the east coast
of Florida. It is the secret season soon, cooler weather and nearly empty white sand beaches.
I have been fine dining at 32 East for many years. The chef, staff, wines  and eclectic culinary creations are
consistently worth the trip.
Did you know that  the Harvest moon is also known as the wine moon? I didn’t, but will celebrate with a glass
of Pinot Noir.
Enjoy the fruits of fall wherever you are.

What does fall mean to you?  It’s like a grade school writing project.  Easy.  Fall means falling tempuratures, changing colors, football, a giant corn maze, pumpkin patches, haunted houses, wild game, stews, cider, how the list goes on….. The autumnal equinox marks the end of summer and the beginning of autumn.  On this day, the sun rises  exactly in the east and sets exactly in the west.  It is also one of two days in the year when day and night are of equal duration. (each twelve hours long)  The harvest moon that falls around the autumnal equinox is also referred to as the Wine Moon!  Nothing says fall to me like Pinot Noir, it just seems to effortlessly carry us into the cooler days with it’s vast array of available styles.  I have chosen to pair Pinot Noir with every course, excluding dessert.  So, there it is, the perfect excuse to grab the falls’ bountiful harvest and the gathering of grapes and have a feast!Drink Well & Happy Autunm,John Bates
