Our group of friends always enjoys finding small culinary gems in unlikely places. When we explore a new spot in the world, our first question is: Where is the best place to dine?
Sushi Chef handcrafting fresh fish
Desert Hot Springs has some of the best sushi I have tasted since Japan. At the time we visited, Domo had only been open for 6-months. We asked the locals and Domo came highly recommended.
Simple décor at Domo Sushi Bar
My favorite is the Orange Blossom sushi roll…spicy tuna, cucumber, avocado, asparagus, and pink salmon. A fresh seaweed salad with sweet soy sauce is a perfect meal. I arrived at 11:30am. By noon every seat in this small café was filled. Several customers arrived for sushi to go.
Excellent selection of sake at Domo
Each morsel I tasted was hand crafted in front of my eyes. The sushi and sashimi were brilliant in color, taste and ocean aromas.
My bento box combination of tempura, sushi and sashimi was delicious, generous, and an excellent value. Domo is a family affair.
I headed back to Domo the following week to try their fresh seafood. Domo is a hotspot of culinary creations in California’s desert!
