Summertime in Swedish Lapland, at the Arctic Circle, means more hours of sunshine and more hours of time to play, relax and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Off the Map Travel introduces a summer adventure designed to take advantage of these “extended” days with a rich program of activities to please guests of all ages, the “All-Day Swedish Summer Sun” itinerary. Perfect for families as well as couples and singles, glamping in the Råne River Valley near Luleå on the coast of Northern Sweden sets the tone for the experience which includes kayaking, fishing, boating, river rafting, hiking and soaking up the summer sun.

Participants will also enjoy a picnic to remember on the Arctic Circle and a lunch on a floating raft. The trip is appropriate for children three years and older. All activities are private. For more information about Luleå and Swedish Lapland, read here.

A four-day program begins in Luleå in Swedish Lapland. From there guests choose to travel by canoe or boat to the Aurora Safari Camp where Lavvu tents await check-in. The five tents are appointed with comfortable amenities, and the site includes a dining and lounge tent as well as two bathroom cabins. Each Lavvu tent can be set up as a double, twin or family room and can sleep up to four people. A communal outdoor fireplace area is perfect for enjoying the river scenery and the possibility of the Northern Lights at the end of the summer.

A highlight of the program is an exploration of the Arctic Circle itself. After breakfast at the glampsite, guests will depart to an open landscape area deep in the forest on the Arctic Circle where they will enjoy an outdoor lunch while soaking up rays and taking photos.

The itinerary is designed to enjoy the best of the forest and river settings. In addition to the daytime activities, a family treasure hunt will keep guests busy. The program concludes with an overnight stay at the Outpost Lodge, a renovated former post office and village shop, near Storforsen Falls, the site of Europe’s largest rapids with a striking waterfall. Hiking in the nature reserve around the falls followed by lunch precede a return to Luleå.
