Much like waiting until you are starving before visiting a grocery store, waiting until the pain from back problems is overwhelming is absolutely the wrong approach to visiting a chiropractor. Chiropractic medicine works best when problems are caught early. Waiting until the issue causes quality-of-life problems makes it more difficult to correct and heightens the potential suffering you could go through.

Chronic pain in joints and muscles is, of course, a stark indication that you need to see a health professional, but there are many – less painful – indications that seeing a chiropractor could help you in the long run. Keeping your body in the best physical condition you can will ensure continued years of quality living.

If you have any of the following issues, visit your chiropractor as soon as possible:

  • Chronic pain

Depending on the cause of chronic muscle or joint pain, a chiropractor can alleviate or lessen the pain that many sufferers must put up with daily. Chiropractic medicine is designed to alleviate this pain without the use of surgery or prescription drugs.

  • Irregular sole wear

If the soles of your shoes wear at different rates, it is an indication that your body’s alignment is off. Your feet, and your sole wear, is a way to casually judge whether you have the correct posture and spinal function or if there is a potential problem in the future.

  • Frequent headaches

Frequent headaches are a signal that something is wrong with your body. A chiropractor can give you a different interpretation about what is causing your headaches then a medical doctor will. With limited reliance on prescription medication, the cause of headaches becomes more important than treating the effects of them. Once the cause is determined, a chiropractic treatment can alleviate the suffering or a recommendation for a doctor’s visit will help stop the pain.

  • Limited motion

Stiff joints, muscle pain and the inability to move past a certain point are all indications that you have a problem with your skeletal system. A chiropractor can work with you to help regain the range of motion you normally enjoy.

  • Arthritis

Arthritis is a joint condition and falls squarely within the chiropractor’s field of expertise. Since the causes and treatments of arthritis are familiar to them, your chiropractor will be able to help you alleviate or reduce the pain and stiffness caused by arthritis.

  • Recent accident

Suffering an accident, whether there was visible trauma or not can be a tricky call. After suffering an accident, no matter the cause, your first visit is usually to a doctor. Medical doctors can miss problems that a chiropractor would be trained to look for. Unless your doctor is also a trained chiropractor, getting a diagnosis from an expert might make the difference between a quick, complete recovery and a long, painful recuperative period.

  • Fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue

At this point, medical doctors have few ways to treat chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia. Because the causes and cures are not understood, treatment is rudimentary and geared toward masking the symptoms with medication. Chiropractic care can relieve the pain and improve energy without the side effects that medication can cause. Unfortunately, chiropractic care cannot cure these disorders but it can alleviate the worst of the pain while allowing you to live a more normal life.

  • Sedentary work or lifestyle

Its common knowledge that staying in one position for long period times is not good for your muscular system. If your job or lifestyle dictates that you stay seated for hours or limit your range of motion, a chiropractor can help keep your muscles from atrophying. In addition to preventing muscle atrophy, chiropractic care can help you avoid stress injuries and pressure.

  • General health

As unfair as it is, leading an active, healthy lifestyle can also cause problems with your muscular system. Pain and stress from exercise, sports and other activities can be minimized or avoided with regular care from a chiropractor.

Chiropractic care has come a long way in recent years. New techniques, in-depth understanding and better training have made real advances in chiropractic medicine. Chiropractic professionals must undergo rigorous training and many health insurance plans now include chiropractic benefits.

With all the advances, the worst possible course when it comes to joint or muscle pain is “toughing” it out. Many of the small, nagging aches and pains will only get worse with time. As the experts at South Perth chiro say, “The best program for chiropractic health is catching it before it becomes too big of a problem.”

This philosophy, derived from years of experience, is invaluable advice to anyone wanting to live a life without the limitations of joint pain. No matter your general health, a visit to a chiropractor can improve your quality of life.
