The Tandem Tasters came across a charming, little book while visiting Rockland, Maine.

The name is Inn-Dulgences. It is all about the Historic Inns of Rockland, and their place on the Historic Register.

The book features history, stories, tips, and delectable recipes for pies, breakfast and brunch. We sampled some of these tasty egg bakes, cookies and award winning pies. Therefor, we highly recommend this book for yourself or that special gift.

Inn-Dulgences also contains practical guides for stocking a pantry, baking, measurement substitutes, cooking terms and quick fixes. We wish we had it long ago, especially before we wrote our first cook book.

Here are three quick fixes:

Food too salty? Add a little sugar and vinegar.

For salty soups and sauces, add a raw peeled potato.

Food too sweet? add a little vinegar or lemon juice.
