A popular Southwest Florida tradition continues, as The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club will host its annual “SummerJazz on the Gulf” concert series for the33rd consecutive year. The fun, free concert series combines a diverse array of musical entertainment with truly beautiful views of the Gulf, gorgeous sunsets, refreshing breezes, and a relaxing atmosphere. Each concert is held on the AAA Four-Diamond beachfront resort’s picturesque Watkins Lawn overlooking the Gulf. “SummerJazz on the Gulf” will take place one Saturday evening per month June-September, and each concert will be from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.This year’s concerts will be on Saturday, June 23; Saturday, July 14; Saturday, August 18; and Saturday, September 15, 2018.

“We are kicking off this year’s SummerJazz concert series with a new addition to our line-up, the award-winning Show Biz Kids, which is an outstanding 12-piece Steely Dan tribute band,” said Savino. “That will be followed by the always-popular Late Night Brass, returning to SummerJazz for the 10th consecutive year, for our July concert. In August, the very fun New Orleans-style TBone Hamilton’s Big Easy Revue will perform, and then the crowd favorite Pocket Change will headline this season’s final concert in September. It promises to be a wonderful concert series.”

Show Biz Kids will kick-off this year’s “SummerJazz on the Gulf” concert series on Saturday, June 23, 2018. The world-class, 12-piece Steely Dan tribute band combines terrific arrangements with superb vocal and instrumental performances. Based in Tampa, the vibrant band won Creative Loafing’s “Best of the Bay Award” for “Best Tribute Band” in 2016. The very popular and versatile 10-piece band Late Night Brass will return to SummerJazz for the 10th consecutive year, on Saturday, July 14, 2018. The high-energy band features a powerful four-piece horn section (saxophone, two trumpets, and trombone), a driving four-piece rhythm section (keyboard, guitar, bass, and drums), a talented male vocalist, and a dynamic female vocalist. They will perform a range of songs from such popular horn bands as Chicago, Earth Wind & Fire, Kool & The Gang, KC & The Sunshine Band, and Blood Sweat & Tears. The band also plays songs from such groups as Huey Lewis & The News, The Blues Brothers, and Doobie Brothers. The band has opened up for Chicago, Huey Lewis & The News, Billy Joel, Elton John, Dennis DeYoung (from Styx), and Michael Bublé. TBone Hamilton’s Big Easy Revue will perform at SummerJazz for the first time, on Saturday, August 18, 2018. Combining jazz, Texas blues and funk music, the 8-piece, New Orleans-style horn band is led by bassist Tom “TBone” Hamilton and is known for its very fun concerts and their ability to get the crowd dancing. Featuring a 3-piece horn section, a guitar, bass, drums, piano and outstanding vocalist, the band performs tunes from such artists as the Neville Brothers, The Funky Meters and Dr. John. This season’s final SummerJazz concert on Saturday, September 15, 2018, will feature the talented 6-piece, high-energy show band Pocket Change. Performing at SummerJazz for their sixth appearance, the band performs Motown, Funk, R&B Variety, Soul, and Dance/Party music. Known for their beautiful vocals and harmonies, and for their showmanship, Pocket Change is led by Bandleader Eddie “The Thrill” Carmichael and Music Director Otis “Maestro” McCarthy. The band has opened for Sean Paul, Journey, Blue Oyster Cult, Paul Revere and The Raiders, Cheap Trick, and Joan Jett and The Blackhearts.
